Sentry has many uses, heres some ideas...

Sentry Case Study #1

John and Barbara, own a small holiday home in Germany, they make use of it mostly in the summer. The winters are cold and their insurance requires that the water doesn’t freeze in the pipes and that the house itself is not allowed to freeze while it is unattended. They have a simple electrical heating system arranged on a frost thermostat to ensure this. John uses Sentry to ensure that the power doesn’t fail at critical times unbeknown to him and also uses the temperature logging facilities to show his insurance company that the temperature never fails below freezing. Should he get an alarm, he can ring the buildings caretaker, management company or the power company.

Sentry Case Study #2

Michael, is like many, an avid sailor, he lives in the UK. He keeps his small yacht in a Croatian marina. During the winter months he puts a small dehumidifier on board and ensures that there is a charger plugged in to keep his batteries topped up. He uses Sentry to monitor that the mains power is not interrupted. This can be a common problem in marinas as there is no one to check, if his power lead remains connected. Sentry monitors the temperature and power conditions and alerts him if the temperature, humidity (his dehumidifier fails) or most importantly if the power is disconnected. Should this happen he can contact the marina personnel.

Sentry Case Study #3

Martin rears pigs and poultry on a small scale. He has rearing sheds are some distance from his house and from time to time he is away. He is concerned that his heat lamps remain on and that the temperature doesn’t change too much. He uses Sentry to monitor the power and temperature in the outhouses. This gives him peace of mind, 24/7 Sentry tracks the power availability and temperature and alerts him by SMS text if theres any problem. As a plus, Martin can access the Sentry Website and look at the graphs of past temperature to ensure that his heat lamps are maintaining the temperature he needs, despite changes in weather outside.

Sentry Case Study #4

Acme Manufacturing has a store near the rear of the plant where it archives important documents. The room isn’t accessed regularly and tends to be forgotten. However its important that minimum temperatures and most important humidity are maintained as damp encroachment could ruin these documents over time and most likely would not be detected until too late. They use Sentry to alert the plant manager if the temperature or humidity ever reaches critical levels.
